Lawren Michelle’s line is feminine, romantic, and anything but boring. The constant splashes of color in the line are only fitting for a collection that is sure to stand out over so many other ready-to-wear collections. Michelle’s collection can be mixed and matched, spans from comfortable to date night frocks, and boasts an array of stunning accessories. The line is perfectly tailored to fit all different shapes and sizes of women, making me truly aware that Lawren has created her line to be functional and beautiful with the contemporary woman in mind.
The ensembles were perfect for us LA girls, with the perfect amount of color to make you pop out of a crowd. Michelle’s collection is comprised of separates and one pieces. I especially loved her short two-toed orange jumper- it screamed fall! It was paired with a short blazer and finished off with a skinny belt. It was interesting to see the print come out again- this time in a skirt, and matched with a polka dotted sleeveless top- an immensely different combination- yet, it worked so well!
Here come the brights! Lime green and hot pink separates were paired with high wasted polka dotted shorts and pants and the look was polished and professional. I never would have thought neon and polka dots mixed well, but I was absolutely wrong. Michelle’s high wasted parachute pant stood out to me; paired with a crisp, white button down, these pants would be great for the office (plus, they looked ridiculously comfortable!). I enjoyed seeing the use of the lines’ mixing and matching of fabrics. A pink neon dress with leather detailing was extremely effective in portraying that “good girl with an edge” look. The detail along the neckline added some extra “oomph” to the average style of the dress.
A huge theme of the line was khaki. Whether it was pants, a blouse, a skirt, a dress, or a full on pantsuit, the khaki alone or paired with the colorful blouses Lawren Michelle is known for were bold and beautiful.
I just about died when I glanced at the runway and a light green short dress with a cut out in the front waltzed by me- the color, the shape- everything was fabulous! I would wear it alone, or with a boyfriend blazer in cold weather. Lawren’s royal blue based floral collection looked stunning on the models skin, and brought some added cheerfulness to the line. Michelle used this print in a dress (with cutouts, once again), and as a blouse paired with a royal blue, ruffled knee length skirt.
Lawren Michelle’s flawless collection was a true success based on the fact that I, along with numerous other people that I spoke with, wanted to purchase everything on that runway. Check out Lawren Michelle’s line and get a universal wardrobe that will flatter any figure!
